If you live at Fort Gordon, or you are transferring to Fort Gordon and you have high school aged children, begin exploring your school options early. The high school that is slotted for those who reside at Fort Gordon may be the worst high school I have ever lived near in my entire life, and I have lived in nineteen states. I would let my dog attend Richmond Academy. It has gangs, it has drugs, only 15% of the students pass the state mandated tests, and the graduation rate is so low, its a joke. Please check it out online if you doubt me.
I would suggest living off post if you can, preferably in Evans. But, if you must live on post, apply early for the local charter schools (Davidson and AR Johnson) but you must apply in the spring for the next school year, and they have very strict enrollment. Our son who is a straight A student with no problems wasn?「どィび「t able to get into one, but got into the other.
There are great private schools in the area. We had to enroll our daughter into one of them as we moved at Christmas. Do not be scared off by the high tuition on an army salary. They do have scholarships and financial aid. Our daughter attends Westminster Schools of Augusta. They have 100% of their graduating seniors going onto college. It?「どィび「s a great school.
The elementary school and middle schools are on base. Freedom Park. It?「どィび「s a fine school and I would recommend it. One of the better ones on post.
