Schools are a matter of opinion, but we liked Fairfax County schools ?¢‚ǨÀúback then?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢. Don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t me wrong, Fairfax has a very mixed population, but there are a lot of well to do subdivisions. Since elementary schools usually encompass a fairly small area of neighborhoods, picking a good elementary school is not too hard. As always though, you will have to take a look at the feeders school into Middle but particularly high school.
Schools on post do not have a good rating. Schools in Chester, about 20 mins away, but rents are higher accordingly. Recommended Pre School:
St. Mark?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s Preschool (225 Claremont Street, Petersburg, VA 23805) is a WONDERFUL little school. It?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s been around for a long time; it?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s attached to St. Mark?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s United Methodist Church (on the edge of Walnut Hill neighborhood in Petersburg). You don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t have to be a member of the church to go there.

Tuition is pretty affordable (and you can pay monthly if needed!). Hours are 9:00 to 12:00 and there are three classrooms which offer: Ages 2 1/2 to 3 on Tuesdays/Thursdays (in 1 classroom) Ages 3 to 4 on Monday/Wednesday/Friday (in 2 classrooms) Ages 4 to 5 on Monday through Friday (in 1 classroom) You can call (804) 733-0420 anytime after mid-August to see about registering. My son just ?¢‚Ǩ?ìgraduated?¢‚Ǩ¬ù after 2 1/2 years there; I cried as we left the school today!
