I have two small children and have had a lot of experiences with Kenner. For the most part the staff at Kenner is great. I have found that if I make my children's appointments early in the morning that we do not have much of a wait time. I also like the nurse's line. They have always responded back to me quickly and if I need an appointment for my kids ASAP and they do not have anything open they will immediately give me a referral off post. I was even out of state and called the nurse's line and they were able to help me and get me a referal out of state. I have had appointments with several of the doctors and found them all to be great - ESPECIALLY Dr. West-Brown. She really spent the time with us and answered all of our questions. My only problem with Kenner is my children's PCM - Dr. Limon-Perez. She is an elderly woman who has a very thick accent. She does not interact well with the kids or the parents. She had trouble picking my children up. When my husband or I have asked her questions she seemed annoyed and often times would answer "I do not know." When I call to make appointments for my children I specifically ask not to be scheduled with her. I have also spoken to other mothers who do not like Dr. Limon-Perez either. On another note - I have had both of my children while at Fort Lee and really enjoyed my experiences at Southside Regional Medical Center maternity wing. The nurses were just great and the facility was clean and updated. My OB-GYN was Dr. Jourden whose office is directly next to the hospital. He and his staff were great well experienced and efficent. He also really allowed my husband to be involved. And when my son was born my husband was in Iraq and he really worked with us to keep my husband as involved as possible. When my daughter was born at my 4 month appointment they could not hear a heartbeat and he went out of his way to make sure I got an ultrasound to make sure everything was okay.

Give Away Entry:
We enjoyed Ft. Lee for the most part. We chose to live in Petersburg, VA, which is about 10 minutes from post. The town is older and a little rough. Chester is 20 minutes north of Ft. Lee, and is much nicer. More places to shop, and newer places to live.

Reports on Kenner have not been very favorable, rudeness and incompetence have been mentioned and that optioning out to civilian doctors was preferred. Long waiting times for appointments.
