Osage Beach is a 45 minute drive from post, but there is where there are the most activities for kids. Minor Mikes Adventure land is pretty fun (rides, arcade, indoor playground). Everything is always busy, but worth it.

FLW is often referred to as “Fort Lost in the Woods” but your experience there can still be good. FLW MWR has an endless amount of events on post…take advantage of them. My son enjoyed all the holiday events and especially the kid’s fishing derbies. If you’re looking for something to do off post, you’ll probably have to travel to Rolla to the skating rink or to Springfield which has an array of activities for children such as Chuck E. Cheese, a mall, zoo, etc. St. Louis is just a 2 hour drive and has the arch, zoo, mall and many more activities to choose from. If you are an outdoor person, this is the place for you. Fishing, camping, hunting and hiking are at your fingertips. Your best bet is to go to LORA (Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area) ran by MWR. They have all these available and at great prices for military and families. Enjoy your time in Missouri.
