Flipcam GiveAway Entry:
The FRG is really good in letting you know about all these activities. The town will always have something for them, festivities, parades?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ they always like to involve family and that?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s what I like about really small towns. We don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t have kids so I don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t know much about this area either, sorry.

There is a lack of things to do with kids in the area, but there are still a few things available. For older children there are sports. For younger children there is mom?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s day out, Kindermusick in Deridder, Westside Gymnastics in Rosepine, Dance studios in both Leesville and Deridder. Many pools in the communities on-post. On-post there is also catfish cove with a fishing pond, new playground and a spray-ground coming soon.
It would be helpful to have a few more place to take kids in the brutal summer heat that is not the Burger King playground.

Sports here cost an arm and a leg, so be prepared to coach if you don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t want to pay too much. Also, be forewarned when playing sports with the neighboring town Leesville, as they advocate for their children to cheat and play dirty.

The post is in serious need of things for children to do ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú they need more indoor playplaces and such that are CLEAN. Everything here is repulsively dirty ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú there is a place Jump City that my children got violently ill after visiting, as their indoor jumpy houses were filthy and apparently NEVER sanitized. The skating rink is okay, but is NEVER open except for 3 hours on Friday nights, 5 hours on Saturdays, and a few hours on Sundays.

The bowling alley was recently redone, and is fun. They have a great deal for family day on Sundays and bowling for 4 for $20 with pizza on Wednesdays, but you can only bowl so much to stay out of the heat, y?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢know?

They really need to open more things for kids here. Give parents a place to go with their kids to beat the summer heat.

The pools are nice, though.
