We have been to Montgomery twice and have lived off base, and on base at both Maxwell(2 years ago) and Gunter(17years ago). Living on base is ok, but the quarters can be on the small side. We lived in the larger old row housing @ Maxwell last, and it was ok for a short tour. The housing @ Gunter is a little nicer, and some of it is a lot newer. If you are going to live off base I would reccomend living in Prattville, or towards Wetumpka. In Montgomery itself you will probably want to stay on the east/north east side. One thing to consider is many who live in Montgomery send their kids to private schools. So if schooling is a factor take a good look at the schools.

The cleaning ladies are incredibly nice and do a great job. Just realize that you can generally hear your neighbors if they are REALLY loud in these apartments.
If you are going to be stationed there for a long period of time I do know that a lot of people opt to live in Prattville, the historic area of Montgomery, or much further down I-85. The area around the base is not a good area to live, and I don?｢どｨび｢t know of anyone who lives right next to the base.
