Penina P. asks: I am PCSing to Point MuguCA in May and am looking for any information about the base. Pros and Cons of housing on and off base. Where would be good to look for off base housing. Any kind of information will help. Thanks!

Brittany E says: Housing on installation? Housing on base is pretty old. They do updates here & there but it's old. No air conditioning but big yards. Housing is half privatized and half military run. Yards have a lot of nice old trees that provide a lot of shade but shade doesn't help with random heat waves or random humidity we get. Housing off installation? Tell us give us tips! Love living off base. We bought a townhome and our BAH covers mortgage prop taxes insurance HOA gardener and all our utilities. We're close to everything and it is a very safe town (Camarillo). There actually is some military housing in town here that is brand new and VERY nice. It's owned & operated by Lincoln Military housing. Only thing is that it is a pet free community because the houses don't have much of a backyard.
