On base Housing:

There are many different housing options at Offutt- actual on base housing and also new off base privatized housing. There are also the older units that have been renovated that are also off base. I lived in one of the older units and was happy with how spacious it was. There are also many affordable houses to buy all around here! I didn\\\'t have to wait at all for a house moving in and out was easy- although they are more sticklers for cleaning than Nellis was! I like the off base housing the best- still feels so safe- but easy for visitors to get to your house.
Off Base Housing: Tons of houses for rent/sale around here, and some on every budget! We bought a house 2 years ago and are still close to base and very happy with it! So many famil friendly communities around- you can\\\'t go wrong! I think Bellevue or papillion are the best cities to live in- not south Omaha! Both are very safe cities. We are easily within our BAH for our mortgage and insurance payments. Many places to rent as well. There are many apartments around, however I have never lived in any. Traffic is not bad as long as you are not coming from Omaha during rush hour!
