On base:
The housing here is VERY nice. The enlisted housing is a two-story duplex. Depending on how many kids you have, decides how big the house you will get. The higher ranking and the families with more kids get the houses that are is one duplex with the wall knocked down so it is one house. I have one baby and we have a the regular two-family duplex. It is 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms The entire upstairs is carpeted, the downstairs is vinyl flooring which is the only downside for me as it is very hard to clean. The officer housing is brand new only a few years old. The houses are huge and very spaced, they are one floor houses. As far as getting housing on this base, there is a waiting list, so as soon as you know you are coming here, I would call the housing office and get on the list.

Off base:
There is off base housing that is part of the military housing. It is called Huntington Village. There are some old ones and also some new ones. And I will be honest and say the old ones are quite awful. The new ones are nice though. You have to be put on a list for those as well.

As far as apartments. We looked at several different ones, and found Southland Station apartments to be the nicest with good prices and also in a good area. http://www.southlandstation.com/ They have tennis courts, two beautiful pools, and krodger, walmart and the base are literally 5 minutes away. They also give a military discount.

As far as regular housing off base. Be careful where you buy as there are some not so nice areas more so than nice ones. I would suggest anything off of Feagin Mill Rd. Also Anything off of Rt 96, and Moody Rd. There are more, I am sure but these are some of the best.
