There are schools on Kadena and I think some of the Marine Corps bases.

Housing on installation?
The only housing on-post is for unaccompanied Soldiers. Most families either live off-post or on Kadena Air Force Base (about 15 minutes away).
Housing off installation?
There is a variety of houses and apartments for rent and the prices range from fairly affordable to extremely expensive ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú especially if you want to be near the ocean. Many homes have Japanese appliances, but you can find some with Western appliances. Traffic can be pretty bad in the mornings.
