    PCS?｢どｨび｢ed to Ft Bliss December 2010. The on base housing wait list is 12 months. The 801 housing (off base in different neiborhoods throughout El Paso) wait list is at least 6 months. So we took housing at White Sands Missile Range, just 45 mins north. They tried to get us to find a local privately owned rental on AHURN. But having 2 young boys we didn?｢どｨび｢t feel comfortable picking a home from over the internet without knowing the area. Also, the amount of BAH would not be enough to cover the cost of most rentals and would not have covered utilities too. So we would have had to put at least a few hundred dollars out of our pockets for it. Then we would be stuck in a 1 year lease that would affect us taking base housing when it is available. WSMR is much smaller then Ft Bliss, but for now the kids are happy in the school, which is only a few blocks from any home on base. WSMR may not have as much as Bliss, but it?｢どｨび｢s a nice small community and they have plenty of housing available right away.

    So how did you go about getting housing on WSMR? We are scheduled to arrive to Bliss mid August and FINALLY received our orders today. Hopefully by tomorrow we will be on a wait list, but it sounds like that list is really long?｢どｨｬｶ.I noticed that rental homes in the area are more than what BAH covers and we don?｢どｨび｢t want to go that route?｢どｨｬｶWSMR sounds like a good possible alternative?｢どｨｬｶany info would be helpful and thank you so much!

    Arrive at Ft Bliss in August 2011 and need base housing. What and who do I notify. Married with dependents so need a safe neighborhood.

    Amber, at the top there is the phone number of the office. Call there they will help. Read through some of the comments that others have left for you here on the website.
