  • Hello Tonyia My husband spent 21 years in the military. I am a real estate agent who is originally from Northwest Florida and I work regularly with military families with PCS orders to Hurlburt AFB. While Crestview is only about 35 miles from Hurlburt "as the crow flies" because of the highways and traffic patterns etc. most people working at Hurlburt choose to live in Navarre and Gulf Breeze. One of the most popular neighborhoods in Navarre is Holley By the Sea as it has half acre lots a nice recreation center for a very nominal annual fee and waterfront access. Navarre and Gulf Breeze both have excellent public schools. My website www.PensacolaForYou.com lists all the homes for sale in the Navarre and Gulf Breeze and it also has neighborhood video tours. I'm happy to answer any of your questions about our area.

  • Tiffany J. says: It's a 40-60 minute to Hurlburt from Crestview depending on traffic. It's too far from the beaches any form of nightlife for my liking and it's fairly "rural" compared to fort Walton beach or Navarre. We've been here almost 4 years and live in Navarre. The commute can be just as bad if there is a wreck on 98 but our average commute to Hurlburt is 10-15 minutes. We live on east Navarre so we miss a lot of the Navarre traffic issues. I personally love Navarre the schools are top notch the youth association has sports for the kids the beaches are amazing and we are right in the middle of everything it's 30-40 minutes to Pensacola or destin close to shopping in fwb and I'm close enough that it makes trips to base for various social functions shopping at the commissary and volunteer stuff easy and convenient. I'm active in the Hurlburt spouses' club and absolutely love it here. Crestview Antioch schools are great from the couple of friends who live there and they like it but hate commuting all the time plus their husbands are at Eglin so the commute to snd from Eglin isn't as bad. Hurlburt has a fabulous AFRC and staff lots of family activities and overall it's a great community to live in. My husband loves it here as well and said its the most family friendly bases he's been at it's my first base with him as a married couple.
