  • Jennie W. says: Ramstein is not all townhouses. You can get on multiple housing waiting lists and that is your best bet if you want to live on housing as soon as you get here. Ramstein has the longest wait.

  • Sandy W. says: You can be put on the waiting list before you get there as long as you have orders. We're headed to Kaiserslautern the beginning of Dec. We were told by our sponsor the waiting lists were crazy 12-18 months for some.

  • Amanda H. says: It was strongly suggested we find a place off post. We arrived in September and for just husband and myself the wait was at least one year in the whole KMC. Which was fine with us because we wanted to live off post.

  • Carla M. says: I'm living in Ramstein now. The on base housing waiting list is long. It also depends on the housing you apply for but Vogelweh they have the towers but that's not good. The best thing that I recommend is living off base. You can go to AHRN and find some houses .

  • Angela M. says: You can start looking in the Kaiserslautern American (ka) classifieds and ramsteinyardsales.com for rental listing. Hope that helps! BTW....I lived off-post for nearly for years and loved it! It is easier than you think seriously. One more bit of advice...lol....I called and personally spoke with my potential landlord from the states. I told him our date of arrival. He actually held the house for us!! So if you find something you like call and talk to them. It can't hurt.
