• Cost of Living:  Sacramento Valley Area which includes Beale Air Force Base is a high cost area.

• School: A State-funded preschool program is offered through the elementary schools as well as an after school program for students who attend on base school. Older children residing on base, grades 6-12, will attend Bear River Middle School (Grades 6-8) or Wheatland High School (Grades 9-12). Both Bear River and Wheatland are located off base in the community of Wheatland.
• Housing: Beale\'s Military Family Housing contains 577 single and duplex units nestled at the base of the foothills of the Sierra Nevada\'s, approximately 8 miles from the flight line and away from the noise associated with flying operations. • Medical Services:  The 9th Medical Group facility is a clinic providing primary care. Specialty services are not offered in the facility Emergency room care and obstetrical care for both active duty and family members is available through the local community hospitals.
