They have swimming pools on base, the ski slope where kids can also go tubing. They have a lot of activities to choose from such as ballet, tap, jazz dance. Also karate and running club, indoor soccer. They have a place called Artic Oasis that has indoor playgrounds, putt putt golf, rock climbing, and a skate park. There are festivals downtown quite a bit. There is also ice rinks in a mall downtown. If you care to drive a bit, there is a reindeer farm in Palmer. There is also the Alaska Zoo and the wildlife conservation center.

The hospital on post is great. It is the number one hospital in the airforce two years running. Excellent local hospital with Providence. It is great for pediatric care. I go to Dr. Mark Just for Dentistry. He and his staff are wonderful!! He is the dentist to the local pro hockey team. My one year old son chipped my front tooth right before Christmas and he fixed it free of charge. If you refer people, you and the new patient get a $25 credit. The eye doctor in the PX is really nice and good about getting you in fast.

Everything cost money here in Alaska but there is an indoor playground on the airforce side that is nice and free. it is great during the winter. there are several bounce house type places here. Nature centers with hiking trails and programs for kids. The gym on post also has sport programs all year long. Great museums in town. Reindeer and Musk Ox farms 45 minutes up the road in Palmer. A Sea-Life center in Seward, Ak, a two and a half hour drive south.
