On installation: Camp shields we lived in s 2-story four plex. It had 3 bedrooms and sometimes seemed small for a fan of 5, but it worked great. We had to buy carpeting ad the floor was linoleum. Off Installation: Never used it but if you do go off base, I would puck by the sea wall. Lots of Americans but mixed in with local nationals.

Housing on installation?
We had our housing brief on Tuesday morning and Wednesday we got a call to say they had three houses for us to look at. Housing here comes in a wide variety. We are a family of 2 so we were given three ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú two bedroom units to look at. The first two were in a 4-plex. I didn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t like either of them. Neither had been renovated and had almost no storage. The last place was a 2 br ranch ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú single home with a huge yard and tons of storage. We grabbed that one quick and were able to move in on Friday. There is a lot of renovation going on here but still a lot of places that are ?¢‚Ǩ?ìtacky?¢‚Ǩ¬ù. There is a big mold problem here because of the hot humid climate so most people run several dehumidifiers to help. We are responsible for cutting our own lawns too, although there are a lot of lawn businesses willing to do it for you for a fee.The housing can range from the single units, to multiplexes to tower/high rise units. Sometimes you will get several choices sometimes they give you one. If housing isn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t at a certain capacity you are required to live on base. The only division within housing for rank is enlisted / officer. When we got here he was an E3 and we lived next to and E7 and an E8.

Housing off installation?
Off base housing is abundant. If you are adventerous, good with budgets, and are allowed, living off base can be a wonderful experience. We weren?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t given the chance but I have a lot of friends that do. There are some American style housing and a lot of Japanese style. If you are allowed to chose to live off base the housing office will give you a list of available properties and help you get set up with an agent. You need to have several months worth of rent up front for the fees.
