Housing is very expensive, so you need to know what your BAH (basic allowance for housing) is to set yourself a limit. Utilities are also very expensive, and most of the homes on the island do not have air conditioning. Base housing does have a/c. Once y?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢all are married and he enrolls you into DEERS and gets a poa drawn up, you (or he) can print out the housing app online, fill it out, and fax it in with a copy of orders and the dependant data page to the housing office. You will then be placed on the wait list. I don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t know what the wait list is like for the housing you are qualified for. We were on the waiting list for 6 months for a home. Normally that?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s not a big deal because when you first move to a new duty station, you are given temporary lodging allowance (TLA) that pays for a hotel until you are able to find a home, but since your fiance has already been living there, you won?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t get that. ?¢‚ǨÀú
