Tricare Prime - Oh Dear. The base Clinics and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth are totally overwhelmed with the amount of people they serve in the area. We switched to Tricare Standard while living in Va Beach which was a good choice for our family. We were able to go out in town and see a doctor on the same day we needed to see someone rather than waiting for days/weeks to be seen like we did while we were on Tricare Prime. I do recommend reminding everyone who is going to touch you or your child to wash their hands before they touch you as their are signs on the walls in the base clinics with that reminder.
