Housing on installation?
------------
I'm not sure exactly what you mean here. Pax River has the PPV housing run by Lincoln. I have not been on the "ON ba
se" housing but the "OFF base - MILITARY" housing is very nice. I did not live in it personally but my friends did. The homes are beautiful on the outside with granite countertops/stainless steel appliances (in officer housing not sure about enlisted). I've heard a few complaints about getting things fixed but it didn't sound any worse than any other rental property.----------
One neighborhood is located in Wildewood - a private community (where I live) and the other is located behind Target and the shopping area there. Both have their perks. See below for more information about Wildewood.------
Housing off installation?-------
Wildewood - a large neighborhood that has an older section a newer section a military section and now a brand-new section. The older section is heavily wooded (wild wood) and the brand new section is mostly houses packed in quite tightly. I live in the brand new section that doesn't have many trees but it's very nice just the same. There are playgrounds in each small neighborhood a community pool that is AWESOME! (kiddie pool zero-depth pool with a small slide water fountains etc. and a big pool for lap swimming and big-kid playing. AND there are lifeguards!) In addition the newest elementary school opened in 2009 (Evergreen Elementary). My children are not school-aged yet but I have heard good things about the school. It is very high-tech and a "green" school as well.------------
Other popular neighborhoods are Cedar Cove located outside of Gate 3 of the base. Forrest Farms located between California and Leonardtown. Anywhere in Leonardtown is pretty good. Lexington Park is hit-or-miss for good housing but a nice neighborhood is Pembroke Estates.----------- by Betsy M.
