Housing on installation? There are around 200 units of base housing on RAF Alconbury and some officer housing located at Brampton (7 miles from Alconbury). There is a 6-12 month waiting list. Housing off installation? We live off base and LOVE it. There are a lot of small villages and towns surrounding the tri base area. www.ahrn.com is a great website which shows all the off base listings. British houses are smaller than US houses so be wary when trying to move some of your big furniture in! You can either take the highways or the back roads to the installations. When you are new to the area it is best to stick to the highways as back roads driving can be scary at first.
