  • Rai D. says: Take a look at www.RODandRAI.com. You can run your own search for homes and learn a little about the area. Crestview is where you will get the biggest and newest home for your money and you are only about 30 minutes to the beach. Don't know where you are coming from but odds are that you will really enjoy this area. Lots to do friendly people and great weather. Best of Luck

  • Sarah S. says: For my family Crestview was a bit out of the way. During shift change it takes me an hour to get from Fort Walton to Crestview. I have friends that live out there and love it.

  • Gabi G. says: We live in Crestview and we like it. Schools are great close to I-10 affordable housing. Military presence is huge many businesses offer discounts. Recommend living south of I-10 traffic is really bad north of I-10. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

  • www.sargeslist.com is a great resource for homes for sale and for rentals. Niceville and Valparaiso are on one side of the base Ft Walton Beach is on the other side. Living in Crestview is not bad but you don't have the same variety of restaurants shopping entertainment etc that you would have closer to the base. The traffic to and from the base has increased significantly lately due to a large influx of military. While this is great for the city the main highway (SR85) is not equipped to handle the extra traffic and commuting can be quite difficult if that is the route you choose. You can live in N Crestview/Mossy Head and take 285 to the base as an alternative.
